Additional Info. Born Kirkcaldy; son of the late Robert and Mrs Cecilia Easson Grieve; husband of the late Catherine Grieve (nee McDonald).

Narragansett, built by Scott & Co., Greenock in 1903 and owned at the time of her loss by Anglo-American Oil Co. Ltd., Greenock, was a British tanker of 9196 tons.
On March 16th, 1917, Narragansett, defensively-armed British Steam Tanker, on a voyage from New York to London with a cargo of lubricating oil, was torpedoed and sunk by the German submarine U-44 (Paul Wagenführ), southwest of Ireland. 46 persons were lost.
